Saratoga
When I was 5 yrs. old I saw the "Super Sara". They had just sent my dad home from leave. I went to the doc with my mom to pick up my dad. I saw a sailor thinking it was my dad. I grabbed hold of the sailors leg and started calling him daddy. The sailor said, not me kid. I wouldnlet go of his leg the sailor was trying to shake me off his leg, I guess I was embarresing him. By that time my dad came up from behind and picked me up. It was something, all the women and kids at the doc next to this huge ship waiting to pick up their loved ones. Some of them didn't make it. I didn't understand at the time, but as I went through the Viet Nam error I understood, what the survivors were going through. I am looking for my dads military records and the crew list of the Saratoga his name will be on that list. He served on the Saratogo after they destroyed the Natoma Bay. I have found his name on the crew list of the Natoma Bay, but not the Saratoga. Does anyone have any ideas? Or, Were any of you there at the time my dad served on the ship? I am searching his records for my children and grandchildren so they can have something to be proud of and send generation to generation. If, anyone knows of anything can you please contac me at Livelylizzymc@aol.com. My dad was 1st. class chief pettey officer, Mr. Kenneth E. Ball. I would appreciate a reply. I thank you for listening, I am a Navy brat and proud to be one. We are military family and our history is Navy all the way. I am Navy all the way, and you guys are doing a great job. I am proud of you and proud to be a part of the military background. I am a survivor of a lost parent. He would be proud to know that you guys are out there taking care of what needs to be done. Go! Navy Go!
