39th SUPPORT BATTALION
Constituted 2 November 1967 in the Arkansas Army National Guard as the 39th Support Battalion and assigned to the 39th Infantry Brigade. Organized 1 December 1967 from existing units as follows:
Headquarters, Headquarters and Service Battery, 2d Battalion 206th Artillery (organized and Federally recognized 31 May 1937 at Fayetteville as Headquarters, 3d Battalion 142d Field Artillery; relocated to Little Rock on 14 February 1940; inducted into Federal service 6 January 1941 at Little Rock; disbanded 25 January 1941 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma; reconstituted 25 August 1945 and allotted to the Arkansas National Guard; redesignated 27 May 1946 as Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 437th Field Artillery Battalion; reorganized and Federally recognized 26 November 1946 at Hazen; ordered into active Federal service 24 September 1957 at Hazen; released from active Federal service 23 October 1957 and resumed State status; redesignated 1 June 1959 as Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 2d Howitzer Battalion 206th Artillery; redesignated 1 May 1963 as Headquarters, Headquarters and Service Battery, 2d Battalion 206th Artillery), redesignated Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment
39th Administration Company (organized 1 August 1942 at Fort Mears, Alaska as Com-pany I 206th Coast Artillery; redesignated 1 April 1944 as Battery A 339th Antiaircraft Artillery Searchlight Battalion; inactivated 12 June 1944 at Fort Bliss, Texas; disbanded 26 June 1944; reconstituted 27 May 1946 as Company A 125th Medical Battalion and allotted to the Arkansas National Guard; reorganized and Federally recognized 26 August 1947 at Little Rock; redesignated Ambulance Company, 125th Medical Battalion about 1 November 1948; ordered into active Federal service 24 September 1957 at Little Rock; released from active Federal service 23 October 1957 and resumed State status; redesignated 1 June 1959 as 39th Administration Company), redesignated Company A
