Page 11 of 11 Pages): The battalion continued to serve in the Republic of Vietnam after TET conducting law enforcement and area security operations in the Saigon area as well as responding to bombings and rocket attacks within the city. On 29 March 1973, Companies A, B, and C of the battalion were deactivated in Vietnam. The 716th MP BN colors were returned to Fort Rilely, Kansas and on April 2, 1973, the 508th Military Police Battalion at Fort Riley Kansas was re-designated as the 716th Military Police Battalion.
