My father William K. Stewart who passed away in 1988 was a S/SGT (Squad Leader) in WWII. He was assigned to Co C 11 Armd Inf Bn, was also in the 6th Armored Infantry of the 1st Armored Battalion. He participated in the following battles and campaigns: Algeria-French Morocco; Tunisia; Po Valley; Naples-Foggia; Rome-Arno; North Appenines. He entered service in Louisville, KY in May 1942 and was discharged in May 1945.
