I served at Fort Polk in with the 3rd of the 19th assigned to B-battery at a time when we went from 155 towed howitzer to the M109 self propelled howitzer. The unit 1st sargent was named Palmer. The battilon commander was Col. Rossi who was a p.t. fanatic.
