B1 1/10 Cav Radio Operator
I was part of the advance party sent to the highlands to set
up a base camp for the 4th Div. It was called Dragon Mtn.
when we arrived; soon to be renamed "tittie Mtn." by us guys. We were a mechanized recon unit that did a lot of
reactionary work in the pleiku area. We also did road security to Qui Nhon and other places. I never knew base
camp was renamed Camp Enari until a few years ago. Well,
this is "duelly crooner 1" signing off. I think about you guys
all of the time.
We went over with Capt. Porter and when I left we had
Capt. Miller as our command. I remember 1st Sgt Henry
Daumb and Sgt Eric Hogan was my commo sgt. We were
at forward base "Jackson Hole" when I came home. I have
been back 3 times, (just got back last Wed.) and I still
haven't found all of our bases of operations yet. You just
will not believe how much it has changed. I visited base
camp (Camp Enari) and it looked just like the day we arrived
Not a single piece of our presence is visible; except the
marking in the road where the guard station was.
