Histories for 2nd Infantry Division

combat football
I remember combat football,I also recall at camp Howze we once had a cross country run combat style. It was every man for himself. waiting in the dark for someone to come running by then the creep move. It was the best when one of the butter bars came by we able to give him the blues. For the most part we had good officers in Charlie co. 1/17 they took it all in stride. we even played basketball the same way. I played softball while in country. We played for the division championship against the 4/7th CAV. When we played we were on alert we had all are gear ready to go, The game got stopped twice if I remember right. Any how we lost but we whipped up on all comers from Casey and every where else they came from. After that game we all ended up sitting on 38th for a week keeping them NK on their toes. The night the alert was over the GUNFIGHTER said lets show these NKS what they will have to come through if they decide to jump the fence. We had a live fire that lasted all night. I humped a 203 I went through about 12 bandis and I cant count the M16 rounds I went through. It was a light show I will never forget. The next lines I will tell you fellas the 30 days on a arft mission with the CAV and 8th army that was wild, but that's for another night. over and out. second to none the BALLS OF THE BUFFALO C/CO 1/17 (M) INF.
