I had cleared post and was getting ready to fly to Travis on the 22nd of Aug 76. When those guys got killed and the whole Division went on alert on the 18th I had already turned in all my equipment and watched my friends locked and loaded heading out as I was leaving to go to Yongsan. We never really got a chance to say good-bye. I was thinking of extending my enlistment so I could stay with them if anything happened. It was a pretty tense situation at the time.
