The 109th Transportation Company was constituted on 28 May 1943 in the Army of the United States as Company B, 55th Quartermaster Truck Battalion, and activated 7 July 1943 in North Africa. On 19 December 1943, the company was reorganized and re-designated as the 3358th Quartermaster Truck Company. During World War II, the company proudly participated in campaigns in Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, Southern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, and Central Europe. On 1 August 1946, the unit was converted and re-designated as Company C, 97th Quartermaster Battalion. On 27 September 1974, it became the 109th Transportation Company. During the Persian Gulf War, the 109th Transportation Company deployed to serve in all three phases of the conflict: Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Provide Comfort.
