During September 1946, the entire 382nd Military Police Battalion was stationed at Bremen, Germany conducting
duty as a Railway Guard Battalion. On October 20,1947,the 382nd Military Police Battalion was reorganized and redesignated as the 382nd Military Police Service Battalion.It was withdrawn from assignment as a Railway Guard Battalion and assigned a Law Enforcement Mission. During this re -organization, Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 382nd Military Police Battalion and Companies A and B, were reassigned from Bremen to Bremerhaven,Germany. Companies A and B, supported the Bremerhaven Military Police Station and provided MP Duty Officers, Desk Sgts, Patrol Supervisors, Trafficic Accident Preventions Section (TAPS) and Military Police Patrols in support of the Bremerhaven and USAREUR Provost Marshal Law Enforcement Mission. In 1951, due to a reallignment of military units assigned within USAREUR, Company B, 382nd Military Police Battalion was reassigned from Bremerhaven to Karlsruhe and relocated at Smiley Barracks. Company B supported the Karlsruhe Military Police Station and provided MP Duty Officers, Desk Sgts, Patrol Supervisors,Trafficic Accident Preventions Section (TAPS) and Military Police Patrols in support of the Karlsruhe and USAREUR Provost Marshal Law Enforcement Mission. In November 1957, Company B, Headquarters and the 1st Platoon were reassigned from Karlsruhe to Bad Krueznach and billeted at Des Gouttes Kaserne. Company B, established MP Detachments in
Worms, Mainz and Coblenz, Germany. Company B,supported
the Bad Krueznach Military Police Station and provided MP Duty Officers, Desk Sgts, Patrol Supervisors, Trafficic Accident Preventions Section (TAPS) and MP Patrols in support of the Bad Krueznach and USAREUR Provost Marshal Law Enforcement Mission.The 2nd Platoon was located in Mainz and the 3rd Platoont was located in Worms and Coblenz. MP Detachments in Worms, Mainz and Coblenz provide support to the Mainz, Worms and Coblenz MP Stations and provided MP Duty Officers, Desk Sgts, Patrol Supervisors,Trafficic Accident Preventions Section (TAPS) and MP Patrols in support of the Provost Marshal, Mainz, Worms, Coblenz and USAREUR Provost Marshal Law Enforcement Mission.The 2nd Platoon, Company B also had a Detachment in the City of Coblenz and policed a very large area in the French Zone. In 1964,the COSTAR Concept was initiated and reorganization of Military Police Units in USAREUR was under way. With plannig for activation of the 15th Military Police Brigade,and reallignments of the 94th and 95th Military Police Battalion's missions,the 382nd Military Police Battalion was deactivated 1July1964.
