I moved from Ft Devens, Mass to RVN with the 595th Sig. Co. in April 1966 with the advanced party. The Company was made up of four platoons, Red Platoon (Went in support of the 1st Inf Div) in DiAn, RVN, White Platoon (Went to Tay Ninh, RVN to setup communications in preperations for the 196th Light Inf Bge) to arrive from the states, Blue Platoon (Went to Phu Loi in support of the 25th Inf), If i remember correctly, one squad from Radio Platoon went with each of the above. These Platoons eventually moved around and eventually became Company's. I was at all the sites listed in addition i was at Xuan Loc, (Long Gao), with the 11th ACR prior to my departure from RVN. I spent a total of 5 years with the 595th both here in the states and Viet Nam. The Unit was awarded a special pocket patch from the Secretary of the Army, but i lost mine when i rotated back to the states.
