891st ENGINEER BATTALION


The coat of arms approved for the 891st Engineer Battalion by letter AGAH-A, IOH, subject: Coat or Arms for the 891st Engineer Battalion, Allotted to the Kansas Army National Guard, dated 18 February 1969, is rescinded as of 22 April 1977. The distinctive innsignia approved for the 891st Engineer Battalion by letter AGAH-A, IOH, Subject: Distinctive Insignia for the 891st Engineer Battalion, Allotted to the Kansas Army National Guard, dated 18 February 1969, is rescinded as of 22 April 1957 The 891st Engineer Battalion was redesignted 1st Battalion, 635th Armor on 1 February 1976, however this redsignation is not mentioned in the Statement of Service prepared by the Office, Chief of Military History for the 635th Armored. Additionally, the coat of arms and distinctive insignia of the 891st Engineer Battalion were not considered suitable for redesignted for the 635th Armor.
