The 31st MP Detachment/385th MP BN/CID personnel, Germany held their Reunion during 30 May to 2 June 2008 at the Galt House Hotel, Fourth Avenue at the River, Louisville, KY. Eighty-one (81) attendees, including wives arrived for the Reunion. The "golfers" arrived in Louisville on Wednesday and played golf until Friday. LTC (MPC,ret) Tom Briggs, former CDR/PM of the 31st MP Detachment from 1970 TO 73, hosted the event. The activities included Friday registration and Friday evening dinner at the Breathitt Room, Gault House and opening remarks and introductions. Saturday morning all loaded onto buses and proceeded to Ft Knox, Ky where the buses were met at the gate by Ft Knox MP's and escorted to the Post Mess Facility. Then on to a designated area where demonstration by the Ft Knox MP SWT and K-9 teams and then a tour of the Patton Museum. All boarded the buses and returned to the Galt House. Saturday evening all met in the hotel lobby and walked two blocks where all boarded the Riverboat "Spirit of Jefferson", for a dinner cruse on the Ohio River. Sunday morning at 10 AM, all boarded tour buses and departed the Gault House for a tour of the Museum at Church Hill Downs and then on to the section of Church Hill Downs known as "Millionaires Row" for lunch and a great afternoon watching the races. " Monday morning was check out time with coffee and doughnuts. Lots of old friendships were re-made and finally - the reality - the reunion was over. A great time was had by all.
