Everyone knows how cold it was, but I think the worst was summer when humping the flightline and the skeeters would come out and completely cover your uniform, they gave us some gunk to put on but it never seemed to help, So there we were walking and slapping for the whole shift. I still don't know how those critters survived the winter.
