It was a great place!
This was my fist assignment as a young airman in 1973. Our Commander at that time was Major Onva R. Slaven. I remember the wild days in the NCO club downstairs from my dorm room. I was an innocent young man upon my arrival, but quickly corrupted by a couple salty sergeants introducing me to some German ladies. I was a Security Policeman, and remember after our shift, going to the NCO Club when it was closed and we would watch first run movies. It was truly a great experience, but have lost contact with all the oldtimers. I'm headed to Munich on vacation in May and hope to stop in Memmingen. After the military I spent my career in law enforcement, and currently serve as an Inspector with the Federal Government. It would be great to hear from some of the people I served with. I would have probably made a career of the Air Force, but after leaving Memmingen I was sent to Minot AFB.
