Rode the bus to work. Got occaisional goodies from an "old" german guy we called "Head Count". Hung out at the Weisser Elephant" (WE Bar). Hung out at one close to the kaserne run by "Gertie". Lived in the Barracks at Andrews Kaserne. Loved Berlin. |

Go to www.berlin brigade.com Look into T-Berg. Interesting pictures of the hill. It has been shut and has been very badly vandalized. Pictures are of 2007 and back during operation. I left in 1987. |

I was in Berlin in 61 when they started the wall and was the Unit maintenance NCO when we moved to the hill. Lt Passaro and I were at Rudau when they blocked the first road for the wall. Hit the panic button and they sent ont an MP and a fat German cop. |

Hill shut down

hi. I heard that they had closed the hill shortly after the Wall was torn down. When I left in 87 rumors were already flying about the hill being dismantled and the Berlin Brigade being decommissioned..or whatever they say about the Army posts...was sad to hear of it too.
