45th in Vietnam
You've probably already got plenty of background about the 45th in VN, but I just happened to to see your email today. I wish I could remember names of streets, etc. but the only thing I can tell you is that the location for the 45th was a few miles NE of Saigon just before you crossed the Binh Loi Bridge. I was in the 45th (Newman Compound) for a short time after landing in VN January of '68. Most of my two years there were in HHC of the 519th (Parker) and Co A of the 519th. At that time the 45th supplied personnel to the Intel centers. CICV (Combined Intel), CMEC (Material Exploitation), CMIC (Interrogation) and CDEC (Documents). I believe we had the largest surrender of the war (to that point), during the May Offensive '68, directly across from us in the jungle. Let me know if you'd like more info about that.
My son was in the Stryker Bde at Ft. Lewis in the 184 MICO. He went to Irag two years ago and is currently with the 2nd Cav Regt. in Vilseck, Germany awaiting deployment to Iraq in August.
