Bulletin Board for AIRBORNE WOMEN

Airborne Back At You!
I attended jump school January 1981 and was with the 82nd until September 1983. Hard to believe that it was so long ago. Anyway, I don't have a husband or children. I am working on getting my masters degree in Pharmacy Regulations and Policies finished. I am currently employed with the Surgeon General's - Office of the Commissioned Corps as a civilian GS9. It is one of the seven uniformed services and falls under the Department of Health and Human Service, with deployment only during disasters stateside. Here's our web site: usphs.gov. I'm thinking about joining the Commissioned Corps next year. I'll be able to transfer my nine years prior service time over to the Commissioned Corps. The Commissioned Corps is an all officer corps. They don't do 1/3 of what we had to go through and they get paid based on the same military pay scale. The Public Health Service previous surgeon general was a paratrooper - RADM Richard Carmona, but he is retired now. Serving with the 82nd Airborne Division was the best job (adventure) I ever had. I wouldn't trade my military training, friends, and experiences for nothing! I'm still waiting for Colleen to coordinate a Airborne reunion for us ladies. Colleen, where are you??? Take care of yourself and your family...
