Company 921 here
Howdy. I was the recruit athletic PO, and I remember trying out for 921 (drill team), when one person who couldn't march was given the order "To the bench, hut!".
The CO was a really short PO1 that a few people were spreading rumors that he was a SeAL (which he wasn't).
During graduation ceremonies, we had a program that included, what the CO refered to as the "Slice & Dice". The RPOC, who had to walk between the spinning rifles, got nailed once.
Since it's been a few years after graduating, I think I won't be releasing any state secrets, but while we were there in boot, I told a fib to the recruit yeoman, telling him that I had a medical appointment. I remember the van would leave RTC, and drop off at the clinic on the main base. I went over to McDonald's and enjoyed a delicious McNugget meal.
What's the funny thing is that, to this day, I still write my eights with two circles, instead of the figure eight. When someone makes a screw up, I still comment " Wrong answer, RPOC". When I put a new roll of toilet paper on, it looks out of place unless the paper unrolls from the top, instead of the bottom.
Anyone have the graduation pic? My wife doesn't think I was ever young.
