Reported aboard 11/69 at Newport News Shipyard. One month in beautiful Puerto Rico followed by a shakedown and DASO. On to transit thru the panama Canal with a brief Pearl Harbor enroute to Guam. made 6 patrols as MT1(SS), qualified on planes, Launcher, MCC, Chief of the Watch. Best time of my life!
