My father was a 5-inch gun crewman during the war and used to receive a periodic newsletter from the reunion association. My father served aboard the USS Tennessee from 1938 into 1942 when he left her, following her repair/update from the attack on Pearl Harbor, for sub school at New London.
Would like to hear from anyone who knew my dad aboard the Tennessee. My dad was a Cook, 3rd class petty officer at the time. |

my dad was also involved in that same day and scene. He was on the quad forty that shot it before it hit the tower. the pilots hand landed in the bucket. he took the ring of the pilots hand and wore it til he died in respect for the young soldier. my dads name is Howard Wall. |

My grandfather was there for that attack. He died when i was very young but i remember digging through junk in our basement once and finding a smallchunk of wreckage. It was from that plane. My aunt and uncle now run a museum in Tenn for the bb 43 if anyone is interested |
