My father (Howard Elwers Willis) was aboard the USS Arizona from April, 1924 unitl March, 1925. I would like to know where the USS Arizona was during this timeframe. Can anyone help? I know she was stationed at San Pedro and was in Bretherton and San Diego during this time. My father was one of the winning team members for the USS Arizona in the 'Vallejo Cup of 1924'. I know it was some sort of rowing or sailing contest, but does anyone know exactly what the "Vallejo Cup" was? Can anyone give me further info? Howard Willis went to Torpedo School from May until September 1924. Was this school onboard the USS Arizona or was he off-ship during this time? If so, where would topedo school have been in 1924?
