My father, Richard Frankel, was I think a Lieutenant at the time he was stationed on the Sara in the Tonkin Gulf in 72. He was one of 4 dentists in the department. My Dad passed away on 11 Feb., 2003. He ALWAYS spoke with fondness about his tour on the boat & he would regale me with stories about port calls spent with aviators crawling the finest establishments of Po City. I never got a chance to meet any of his shipmates. Could any of you men posting here tell me if you remember my father. He was & still my hero, & I'd like to meet the company of heroes he served with.
