Hello shipmates, I'm developing my profile for application for federal employment. There is the opportunity to take a 5 point addition to your qualifying score for veterans, but only with specific qualifications. Specifically the guideline states if you were "In a campaign or expedition for which a campaign medal has been authorized. Any Armed Forces Expeditionary medal or campaign badge, including El Salvador, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, Southwest Asia, Somalia, and Haiti, qualifies for preference". I served aboard the USS Nimitz from Jan 1982 thru May 1983. The only thing that I think may qualify is the Lebanon reference, since we patrolled off the coast of Lebanon for months after the Marine barracks were bombed. I've searched, but cannot find definitive information on this. Can anyone offer any help. Thank you, Tim Bond, HM2
