the 421st rkt bn Okinawa--tenth army--24 corp-- also attached to the 429th FA--11/29/45 recieved shipment orders RK-2105 headquarters OBASCOM APO331 establishing December 31/45 as the date 421would complete it's over seas mission for return to USA as a category 4 unit they boarded the aircraft carrier USS savo island and headed home 12/29/45 to end the career of 421st RKT BN According to my info 5 divisions partisipated in the Ryukyus islands 7th/27th/77th96th/98th. I can not find any where that we attached to any division, at one time we were considered a seperate Battalion, The 422nd RKT BN went to the phillipines
