I was a Technician 5th Grade. Headquarters Battery. Trained at Ft. Sill. Went overseas from Seattle June of 1945 in the USS Rockbridge. Arrived in Okinawa in July just after the battle ended. We were expecting to invade Japan from Okinawa. What we did was take Japanese prisoners out of caves and transport them to the compound at the north end of the island.
