My father, Walter E. Scribner, Jr. as stated above, fought at Bettviller, France on Dec 30, 1944 and with 5-6 other men, was awarded the Bronze Star. My grandfather, Edward T. Heidegger, served with "Charlie" company 397th Inf. 100th Inf. Div. He was a rifleman until he was wounded and ended up with a petroleum outfit.
