Hi, I would like to know more about my father's experience in the military also. There was a book published about them that
my mother has somewhere. I am trying to locate it.
Have you had any luck?

Jim, my father (Diamond Altizer, Sr.) served with your father during that time. My mother told us that at some point they were held up in a cellar and ate potato shavings to survive.
He was an Expert Heavy Machine Gun operator.
I would like to know more about their mission and battles.
