Cold War - Germany early 1960's
I was with the Gimlets in Munich 1962 to 1964 when the US 7th. army was referred to as a speed bump in the path of the Red Army. Outnumbered and outgunned we had to count on being reinforced from the states to prevail in conventional warfae in Europe. During this time we had the Cuban missle crisis and Presidents Kennedy's assination which raised tensions and sent us to the field on alert. Some of remember the heat of the so called "Cold War" from our Berlin serice.
