A spot called Afua near the Driniumor River, New Guinea became a focal point for attacks by the determined Japanese, but our 148th Field Artillery Battalion saved the day several mornings by firing over our perimeter at a hellish close range to blast the attacking Japanese. --- Trooper Ben P.
