Question:
I am constantly hearing about how the military will
pay for me to get a college degree, but I don't want
to get a degree. Is there a way for me to use my benefits
for something other than college?
Answer:
Yes. As a Servicemember or Veteran you have
several programs available that will help you get
Vocational/Technical (Vo-Tech) Training, Professional
Licensing, Certification, Applied Science (Professional)
Degrees and On-the-Job Training (OJT - Veteran's only).
The Military Service Branches have worked with Departments
of Labor, Education and Veteran's Affairs to develop
many ways for you to pursue vocational and technical
licensing and certification.
These Vo-Tech programs are designed to to either document
your current training and experience or offer you
the opportunity to take courses, exams and practicals
to get the types of certification and licensing that
are vital to your eventual transition into the civilian
workforce.
