"Eightballers" of Helicopter Anti-Submarine
Squadron Eight (HS-8), conducts plane guard
maneuvers near the U.S. Navy nuclear powered
aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN
74). Plane guards provide area surveillance
near the ship and provide sea air rescue (SAR)
for downed aviators and Sailors lost at sea.
