1. THIS MESSAGE SOLICITS MEMBERS INTERESTED IN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
ADVISOR (EOA) DUTY FOR ASSIGNMENT YEAR (AY) 2007.
2. THE EOA SERVES AS THE FIELD-LEVEL EXPERT FOR ALL ISSUES
SURROUNDING MILITARY AND CIVILIAN CIVIL RIGHTS AND EQUAL
OPPORTUNITY. THEY ARE CALLED UPON TO ARTICULATE COAST GUARD AND
CIVILIAN CIVIL RIGHTS LAWS AND REGULATIONS TO THE COMMUNITY AT
LARGE. THEY PROVIDE MENTORSHIP TO HUMAN RELATIONS COUNCILS,
PARTNERSHIP IN EDUCATION PROGRAMS, AND SPECIAL EMPHASIS PROGRAMS
AND PROACTIVELY CHAMPION A WORK ENVIRONMENT FREE OF ALL FORMS OF
HARASSMENT AND DISCRIMINATION.
3. ELIGIBILITY: TO BE CONSIDERED, APPLICANTS MUST BE A ROLE MODEL
WITH A RECORD OF OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE. INDIVIDUALS ARE REQUIRED
TO HAVE A STRONG RECORD OF DEMONSTRATED LEADERSHIP ABILITIES,
EFFECTIVE PUBLIC SPEAKING AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS, AND POSSESS THE
UPMOST DESCRETION IN HANDLING SENSITIVE MATERIAL. OUTSTANDING CHIEF
PETTY OFFICERS (E-7) AND PETTY OFFICERS (E-6) WHO ARE TOUR COMPLETE
IN AY 2007 (NOT WAIVERABLE), AND MEET THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
IN REF A AND B ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO APPLY.
