Military.com Launches “DoD Buzz” Newsletter

With Defense Industry News and Analysis

200,000 subscribe to free newsletter at its online debut

San Francisco, March 1, 2006 – Military.com, the nation’s largest military membership organization, has launched DoD Buzz, a free online publication offering a weekly roundup of the top news and information in the defense industry, with analysis and opinion from industry experts.

  • Every issue will feature reports on contract awards, milestones and program news, links to Associated Press reports, peer insights from procurement and acquisition experts, and exclusive content on defense technology breakthroughs from industry insiders Noah Shachtman, founder of DefenseTech.org, and Ward Carroll, editor of Military.com, military author, and former communications director for the V-22 program at NAVAIR.
  • DoD Buzz generated a buzz of its own in online previews, and more than 200,000 government contractors, procurement officers, and military officers received the first issue today.

DoD Buzz springs from gaps in trade press coverage of what’s happening
inside the Beltway, in the Building, and on the Hill,” said Carroll. “This publication will do more than keep subscribers current with the latest defense procurement intel. Its exclusive tenor and insights will help them move on opportunities or be better armed to make strategic decisions regardless of what side of the equation they’re on.”
DoD Buzz is published on Wednesdays, and delivered via email to subscribers. Subscribe today at www.military.com/Registration/DODBuzz. The newsletter is the latest addition to Military.com’s publication offerings, which include 13 other newsletters, as well as original content columns and forums, all free and accessible at www.Military.com.
